Getaway in 4x4 in Granada Geopark and accommodation in a cave house, Feel the Earth

The experience

We invite you to know the most authentic Granada and in ancient times through its landscapes as the deserts and unique villages with their settlement of cave houses in four nights and five days in which you can live a unique experience.

The first day takes place in Benalúa and is suitable for them to have a global vision of the town in which they will stay, immersing themselves in the theme, origins and development of the same in all its aspects. We will visit its cave museum where through its halls you can learn how this place was developed through its culture, its methods of agriculture and irrigation from the Arab period and knowing which was one of the reasons why the economy of Benalúa was promoted to through his room where the sugar factory will be known. To continue with this route you will taste a lunch based on the gastronomy of the area in a unique place as it could not be otherwise in a cave. Continue the route through a walk through the town where you can see the viewpoint of Kabila with its spectacular views of the Bad Lands. The final touch is for the Master Picador of the area who will talk about the art of the restoration of the cave houses or its construction with the advantages that living there, which will allow that as a tourist, spend a magical, integrated and sensitized first night with everything that represents this great environment. Next, they will enjoy a dinner at the place where they stay and rest.

The second day takes place in the area of Gorafe, where it was time to feel an authentic adventure. On this route you will enjoy an incredible and unusual 4x4 trip where you will enjoy driving at the wheel of a fantastic trip through the desert where our instructors will make you enjoy an experience in a safe and unique way. A different perspective to know the great desert, its Band-Lands, Los Filetes del Diablo; knows The Colorado of Granada. Continuing with this adventure they will stop at one of the most recognized wineries in the area where they will make a tasting of the best organic wines with a tasting of the various dishes that the gastronomy of Gorafe offers. Next, they will continue the route and another stop will be made in Trópolis where, in a didactic way, they will meet and make their own bread recognized throughout the province of Granada. A great activity with which he will laugh and act like a professional baker. Finish this great route back to accommodation in the 4x4 where they will dine.

On the third day, they will have breakfast at The Farm School in Píñar, where they can not leave without visiting one of the most incredible caves in the area, La Cueva de las Ventanas, which they will arrive with the tourist train leaving from the Granja School. In the cave they will make a trip to prehistory through different workshops and performances, accompanied by a tour guide with whom they will know how our ancestors lived. Later, they will visit the town of Píñar and take a route through the surroundings and the Arab Castle together with a view of the oil factory. Back to the Farm they will visit the museum and they will make a tour of the Animalario where they will know the species of the area. Finally, they will have lunch at the Castillo de Píñar, a wonderful restaurant in the area where you can taste typical Píñar cuisine. In the afternoon we will move them to Granada, with time to see the Queen of the city, The Alhambra. They will have the whole afternoon free, but we will give you a series of recommendations so that you do not miss this marvel. You can witness an unparalleled sunset at the Mirador de San Nicolás with the Alhambra in the background.

On the fourth day you will get to know Guadix, you will take the route of the Castles and Palaces where you will see the unique buildings and wonderful architecture of the Renancentist period in the north of Granada. For lunch, they will make a stop at another of the great wineries in the area where they will taste a wine tasting and eat a typical and rich gastronomy. Finally, you will have a free afternoon in Guadix where we recommend you visit the monumental Cathedral of Guadix and its cathedral museum from the 16th to the 18th century. It was built on the Great Mosque and in it the Gothic style is fused. In addition, you can meet and walk through its unique streets and enjoy its monuments and shops.

Finally, on the fifth day, they will have breakfast at the lodging place and we will transfer them to the different return stations.

Day 1, Benalúa.

            Rental car at the arrival station and transfer to the accommodation site.

            Visit to the cave museum. Three rooms with modern audiovisual resources.

14.00 Lunch in the cave.

            Route through the town of Benalúa and story of a picador teacher.

20.00 Dinner in the cave.

Day 2, Gorafe.

08.30 Breakfast in cave.

09.30 The 4x4 route begins, leaving the accommodation site towards the desert.

14.00 Organic wine tasting and lunch in renowned winery.

               Transfer to Trópolis. Bread workshop

               Continue the 4x4 orientation route.

7:00 pm Return to the cave.

               Dinner in a cave.

Day 3, Píñar.

09.30 Displacement to Píñar towards the Granja Escuela.

               Breakfast at the Farm.

               Welcome reception and travel by tourist train to the cave.

               Visit to the grotto (Cave of the windows) accompanied by a guide.

               Return to the town of Píñar on the train.

               Hiking route to make the panoramic visit of the Arab Castle.

               Visit to the oil mill and oil tasting.

               Return to the Farm School The castle.

14.30 Lunch at El Castillo Restaurant.

               Visit to the farm and animal museum.

               Displacement to Granada.

               Free afternoon. Recommendations: Granada Cathedral, calle de las teterías on Calle Elvira towards Mirador de San Nicolás, Albaicín,

                      Sacromonte, Paseo de los Tristes.

22.00 Pick up and transfer to accommodation in Benalúa.

Day 4, Guadix.

09.00 Breakfast in the cave.

          Route of the Castles and Palaces.

14.00 Wine tasting and lunch in the cellar.

          Transfer to the town of Guadix.

           Free afternoon. Recommendations: Alcazaba, Cathedral and museum professor, Jewish quarter and alcaicería, settlement of house caves.

22.00 Transfer to the accommodation.

Day 5, Benalúa.

           Breakfast in the cave and transfer to the different transport stations.
